Zion National Park, Utah
As with our entire trip, Zion NP was magnificent. Our campground was just on the east edge of the park. The drive in was stunning with the road winding around through two tunnels. Private vehicles are not permitted on the scenic drive of Zion NP. A shuttle bus runs through the entire park. You get off to sight-see, explore as long as you want, and get back on another shuttle to proceed to the next stop when ready.
This gave Keith a nice break from driving so he could enjoy all of the scenery. And did he ever enjoy himself? Yes!!! He enjoyed himself so much that he decided to wade in the Virgin River. Well, as you can see by our photos, he took the big plunge. Yes, that’s right clothes, wallet, everything. As he was wading across to conquer the big boulder (as his 6 year old predecessor had done) the bottom dropped out and “kerr-plunk” down he went. And yes, he did conquer the huge boulder as you can see by the joy of accomplishment on his face.

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah
Bryce Canyon, NP was also beautiful. The drive to Bryce took you through the Red Canyon, Dixie National Forest. A little gem all it’s own as you can see by the photos. Bryce, like Zion, offered a shuttle bus through the park. The scenery was awesome with the canyons and hoodoos. Elevation reached 8,300 feet.
